Full Roof and Wall overhaul for this house in Lanark. We replaced 36 tiles in total and re-pointed where necessary. We pressure washed the roof to thoroughly clean the area for coating, we then applied an anti-fungal/anti-bryophytic solution to inhibit further growth of lichen/moss.
The Job
The customer had been previously been advised by a roofing company that as the roof was over fifty years old a full re-roofing was required due to the state of dis-repair to their roof, which required a very substantial financial outlay. On inspection by ourselves, we ascertained that although the roof was in a fair state of dis-repair (several broken tiles and build up of moss, algae and lichen), we were confident that we could repair and extend the life of the roof at a fraction of the cost.
The roof was cleaned to remove the dirt, moss and algae, taking care to protect the surrounding area with covers, the broken tiles were replaced and a biochemical sealant applied. Finally, an acrylic polymer coating (which has a ten year guarantee) was applied leaving the property watertight and looking great. The customer was thrilled with the overall cost saving.
