We cleaned the roof to remove the moss and algae which had accumulated over time. We repointed the ridge tiles as the original render was crumbling and replaced the broken tiles. We thoroughly cleaned the walls, gutters facia and soffits. We also repaired the broken render on the walls.
The Job
A large property with solar panels on the roof. On inspection there was evidence of moss overgrowth both on the roof and on the solar panels. There was also some evidence of birds starting to create nesting under the solar panels.
Both the roof and the solar panels were carefully cleaned, as well as the gutters, facia and soffits. The roof was coated with a biochemical sealant that prevents further moss growth taking care to protect the solar panels. A waterproof roof coating in Stoker Grey was then applied to the roof, again taking care not to damage the solar panels. This treatment seems to have resolved the potential bird problem and aesthetically improved the roof appearance.
